Romolo and Angela bought a Swensen's Ice Cream Parlor 50 years ago. Romolo's Cannoli was born, a mix of a gelateria and pasticceria. The nonni made sure to show off Sicilian/Italian flavors in the shop. Introducing spumoni, almond, and hazelnut. Eventually the couple added desserts such as ice cream cakes, tiramisu, cookies, and our famous cannoli.
As bakeries in the Bay Area started closing, Romolo's quickly became the only authentic Sicilian-Italian Gelateria and Pasticceria. Fast forward to 2007 it was time for Romolo and Angela to retire, handing their masterpiece over to their grandson Joey. The creativeness of Joey helped mix tradition with current demands.
Today Romolos has many more options such the cannoli kit, pistachios, chocolate chips and toffee garnish, as well alternative fillings.We host Ice Cream Tours for schools as a donation item and take pride in corporate and wedding orders. Contact us at or call 650 574-0625
